Responding to the Authority of Jesus

Matthew 21:23-46

Pastor Matt Webster

** Recognition of Truth (v.23-27)

** Repentance of Sin (v.28-32)

** Reception of His Kindness (v.33-46)

FOR FURTHER DISCUSSION

1) When God’s Word challenges your assumptions, convictions, or desires, how do you typically respond? What might it look like to pursue the truth humbly, even when it requires you to admit you’re wrong or change your mind?

2) What is the difference between appearing obedient to God and genuinely responding to Him in repentance and faith? Where might you be tempted to settle for religious words or appearances rather than the fruit of a transformed life?

3) How might we presume upon God’s patience while continuing to resist His authority?  What would it look like this week to receive His kindness with genuine repentance and submission to Jesus?
