Matthew 19:1-15

Outline:

I. God's Design (v.1-6)

II. Man's Depravity (v.7-9)

III. Singular Devotion (v.10-12)

IV. Childlike Dependence (v.13-15)

For Further Discussion:

1. Jesus grounds marriage in God's creation intent, not cultural convenience. Where have you let culture (or your own preferences) quietly redefine what God designed, rather than submitting to it?

2. Moses' concession was for hardened hearts, not God's ideal. What's one area of your life where you've settled for a "permitted" compromise instead of pursuing God's actual design?

3. If someone watched your (or your family's) calendar and bank statement this month, would they see evidence of singular devotion to Christ, or divided loyalty? What's one honest adjustment you could make?

4. Is there someone in your life — a child, a newcomer, someone overlooked — that you (like the disciples) have subtly treated as less worthy of time or attention? What would it look like to welcome them the way Jesus welcomed the children?

5. Whether married or single, this chapter confronts our tendency to negotiate with God's design rather than submit to it. What's one place in your life where you're currently negotiating instead of surrendering?
