1) What does Jesus' question-"Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath?" reveal about God's intent for the sabbath law? How does this passage contrast the Pharisees' motives with Jesus' heart?

2) Where might we be tempted to value rules, appearances, or traditions over compassion?

3) What does it look like to "do good" in our own context, even when it costs us? Who in your life needs the kind of healing, encouragement, or compassion that Jesus demonstrated here?
