1) Why do you think many Christians still struggle to believe God is truly at peace with them? What does Paul say has already been accomplished for believers (v.1–2)?

2) Why does Paul say Christians can rejoice even in suffering (v.3–5)? Is there an area of suffering in your life that needs the application of Gospel truth? What feels hardest about inviting others into your pain, and what might help take a step toward that?

3) Where do you struggle most: believing God has forgiven your past, sustaining you in the present, or securing your future? Who in your life needs to hear about God’s peace this Advent season?
