For further reflection:

1) Jesus invites us to ask, seek, and knock. How does this invitation reveal God’s heart for a personal relationship with us? Is your life characterized by deep prayerful dependence on the Lord? Evaluate your prayer life and ask God for a growing recognition of need and reliance on Him.

2) How does understanding God as a loving Father shape your view of prayer and His willingness to answer? Are there areas where you are failing to recognize God’s provision or answers to prayer? Seeking His wisdom revealed in Scripture and surrounding yourself with Godly counsel in community is necessary and often His answer.

3) How does this teaching demonstrate the heart of the gospel message? Jesus’ words in this passage involve both receiving from God and living in light of His goodness. How might you be proactive in your life, practically seeking to do good to others?
