Baltimore Rescue Mission

Serving the Homeless of the Greater Baltimore Area and Maryland

The Baltimore Rescue Mission is a faith-operated mission whose key purpose is to proclaim Jesus Christ to every person who enters its doors. The mission receives no government funding or surplus foods and charges nothing to the people who come. God supplies the mission through churches and individuals, in answer to the prayer of faith. The mission’s staff instructs believers in the Word of God, conducts Christ-centered preaching and teaching services, and offers one-on-one counseling sessions. The rescue mission also provides food, clothing, shelter, medical assistance, a five-day drug and alcohol detox center, and the Karis Home for women and children.

During a typical year, more than 3,000 different people come to the mission seeking help of one kind or another. Out of the more than 3,000 persons, approximately 9% receive Christ and attend discipleship classes.

Pray for the continued spiritual growth for the men and women who are on staff at the rescue mission. Pray that the Lord will continue to give them a burden for the lost spiritual condition of the guests God sends each night. Pray for wisdom for George Jones the director. Pray for God’s provision for the rescue mission in difficult economic times.
